Prairie Isle with guest at RWBC

Team leaving at the start with guests

The Prairie Isle seld team is made up of mainly Samoyeds.  We do have 3 Alaskan malamutes and two trapline line of Alaskan husky.

Samoyeds are a northern breed that originated from Russia ans was used by the nomadic Samoyed people to help survive the tundra of Russia.  They are a very people oriented breed---they love people!
Samoyeds are white, white & biscuit or cream color with beautiful brown eyes.

Here are Whisper, Pilot, Thyme and Ice at 6 months of age learning all about dog sledding.  They are now 2 years old and work full time in the team.

Alaskan malamutes originated in Alaska with the tribes of Inuit people and are to believed to be one of the original dogs used to haul freight.  They can be rather aloof with people but are gentle dogs.  My three mals; Smokey, Anna and Logan are very different from each other in personality and from my sams, even though they are closely related to each other.  They are friendly and enjoy attention from people but they do not seek out people as the Samoyeds do.

Flint, is one of our Alaskan huskies and he is a mixed breed which is true for ALL Alaskan huskies.  He is from a line of Alaskan huskies that were used in freight hauling and as trapline dogs.  He is slightly smaller than my mals, but larger than my Samoyeds.  He is a sweet, easy going sled dog and very powerful
